Macquarie University Hospital researchers are involved in more than 20 major studies relating, for the most part, to two main areas of research:

• Neurosciences Program: In general, this program focuses on how the brain helps control the vascular, respiratory, cardio-vascular system.
• Vascular Program: This program focuses on how the vascular system and heart impact on the brain.

Macquarie University Hospital research is funded, in part, by the National Health and Medical Research Council, the Australia Research Council, the Heart Foundation and other funding bodies.
