Having completed cardiology training overseas in 2001, Dr Venkatachalam was a consultant cardiologist overseas and did his Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Townsville and Westmead Hospital, as well as the QEII Hospital in Halifax, Canada. Dr Venkatachalam has extensive interventional experience here and abroad.  He regularly performs coronary angiograms and angioplasty procedures, and is proficient in both femoral and radial approach techniques. Dr Venkatachalam conducts and reports on a wide range of diagnostic tests including ECG, Holter, Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring, Rest & Stress Echocardiography.  He also performs complex interventions involving Rotablation, Intra-vascular Ultrasound, Pressure Wire Studies, Transoesophageal Echocardiograms and Cardioversions. He is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at Macquarie University. He is fluent in Hindi, Marathi, Tamil and Malayalam.

Dr Peter Vickers is the Director of The MaxilloFacial Unit at Macquarie University Hospital. He trained in Medicine and Dentistry and undertook surgical training in Australia, the USA and the UK. He has particular interests in oral pathology, facial deformity, trauma and oral cancer. He has utilised microvascular reconstruction of the face and jaw extensively. He also undertakes day stay minor oral surgery including dental extractions, wisdom teeth and places simple and complex dental implants. As a senior surgeon and Director of The MaxilloFacial Unit at Macquarie University Hospital Dr Vickers undertakes a lot of difficult and complex tertiary referral surgery where his extensive training and experience are invaluable.

Dr Sameer Viswanathan completed his medical education at Sydney University and has worked as a resident and a registrar in both New South Wales and Queensland. He completed his orthopaedic training in Queensland and was admitted to the RACS in 2007. He worked as a Staff Specialist in Redcliffe Hospital, Qld in 2008. In 2009 he underwent  subspecialty training in hip and knee replacements with Associate Professor John Ireland at Fairfield Hospital. Subsequently, Dr Viswanathan completed a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the Royal North Shore Hospital. In 2009 Dr Viswanathan worked as a locum VMO at Liverpool Hospital and Campbelltown Hospital. Dr Viswanathan is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, an Associate Member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association, and a member of the Australian Medical Association. He is also a lecturer at the Australian School of Advanced Medicine. Dr Viswanathan has recently been accredited at Macquarie University Hospital where he provides consultative and surgical services for conditions of the foot, ankle and knee. She has hand therapy practices at Hornsby and Dee Why, and in 2010 joined Prof Gumley to set up the Macquarie Hand Unit. Anne enjoys the clinical and academic aspects of hand therapy and completed her PhD on the management of carpometacarpal osteoarthritis in 2006.

Associate Professor Craig Waller is a leading hip and knee surgeon in Sydney, specialising in sports injuries and joint replacement. He graduated from the UNSW in 1982 with the University Medal Graduate prize in surgery and nine other academic awards. He studied orthopaedic surgery in Sydney, London, Edinburgh and Los Angeles to gain Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1989. He gained full fellowship of The Australian Orthopaedic Association in 1992. Associate Professor Waller was chosen to head up the Division of Sports Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Macquarie University in 2007 (formerly known as the Australian School of Advanced Medicine). He remains the head of Sports Medicine in the Department of Surgery at Macquarie University Hospital.

Associate Professor Waller was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor by Macquarie University in 2008. He was awarded the title of Visiting Professor, Peking University People’s Hospital, Beijing, China in 2009. Associate Professor Waller’s interests and expertise are in hip and knee replacement, knee ligament reconstruction and sports injuries of the knee. He is a consulting knee surgeon to three professional NRL clubs and two Sydney based rugby clubs and has vast experience in the treatment of football injuries. He has a particular interest in the treatment of ski and snow sports injuries and is a keen skier himself. He has treated many professional and Olympic level skiers and snowboarders including four athletes who competed in the Winter Olympic Games in Sochy, Russia in February 2014. Professor Waller was also a consulting knee surgeon to the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. Associate Professor Waller is one of the most experienced ACL reconstruction surgeons in the country, having personally performed over 5,000 cases since 1989.

He has an interest in minimally invasive surgery of the hip and knee, computer and robotically assisted joint replacement, partial knee replacement, allograft ACL reconstruction, and stem cell therapies. All of these treatments are available at Macquarie University Hospital under Associate Professor Waller’s care. Associate Professor Waller consults at Macquarie University Clinic every Tuesday and operates at Macquarie University Hospital on Fridays. He and his staff would like to assure patients and referring doctors of their best care and attention at all times.

Dr Audrey Wang is a qualified Urological Surgeon with particular interests in incontinence, voiding dysfunction and reconstruction. She graduated from the University of Sydney with honours in 1998 and completed her urological training in NSW.  She then obtained a subspecialty fellowship in Urodynamics, Incontinence and Reconstruction at Sunnybrook Clinical Sciences Centre in Toronto, Canada. Dr Wang received comprehensive subspecialty training in the evaluation and treatment of urinary incontinence in men and women, incorporating the use of urodynamics study when necessary. She has expertise in performing various procedures for female urinary incontinence as well as male slings and insertion of artificial urinary sphincter. She currently holds a staff specialist position at Westmead Public Hospital and has private consulting rooms at  Macquarie University Hospital.

Dr. Amanda Wang is a Consultant Nephrologist and General Physician with particular expertise and research experience in acute kidney injury, dialysis and chronic kidney disease. She has completed clinical fellowships at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Concord Hospital and Liverpool Hospital. She is also a post-doctorate research fellow at the George Institute for Global Health affiliated to the University of Sydney, and has a number of publications in peer-reviewed journals. Her areas of interests are acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease, hypertension, diabetic kidney disease, glomerular disease and dialysis. Dr. Wang is fluent in both English and Mandarin.
