Dr Chan graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1986 with a Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery. After gaining experience in general medicine, surgery, emergency medicine and paediatrics, he developed an interest in obstetrics and gynaecology. He received the Gold Medal for the MRANZCOG examination in 1990 and was admitted to the Westmead Hospital Integrated Training Program, becoming the first fellow in gynaecological oncology at the hospital.

In 1996 Dr Chan undertook his fellowship at King Edward Memorial Hospital, Perth, where he developed a keen interest in defining the role of laparoscopic surgery in gynaecological oncology. In 1997 he had the opportunity to work alongside leading UK specialists at St Bartholomew's, Royal Marsden and Royal London Hospitals. He gained further expertise in gynaecological surgery after attending a master class with French surgeons Dr Queleu and Dr Dargent, and UK surgeon Professor John Monaghan. Dr Chan is currently Director of Gynaecological Oncology at Liverpool Hospital, treating women with gynaecological malignancies. He also operates out of Macquarie University Hospital.

Dr Jeff Chang is a gastroenterologist who graduated from the University of New South Wales and completed his physician training at Concord hospital. He pursued further training as clinical/research IBD Fellow at the Western General Hospital Edinburgh, UK before returning to Australia. He is currently completing a PhD in examining intestinal permeability via confocal endomicroscopy in inflammatory bowel disease having been previously awarded a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) scholarship for his work. He currently holds staff specialist appointments at Nepean Hospital and Concord Hospital.

Juliana Chen is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Accredited Practising Nutritionist. She completed her Bachelor of Advanced Science and Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics at The University of Sydney. Juliana is also currently undertaking her Doctor of Philosophy in Nutrition and Dietetics at the Charles Perkins Centre, The University of Sydney. As an emerging leader in her field, Juliana’s research interests are focussed on how dietetic services and patient care can be enhanced through harnessing mobile health technologies, such as health apps.

Juliana is a member of the Dietitians Association of Australia, member of the Wireless Wellbeing and Personalised Health node in the Charles Perkins Centre and member of the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) for mHealth ‘UN-WIRED’. Juliana is passionate about using food as medicine to promote population and individual health and wellbeing across the whole lifecycle. She has worked in public health, community nutrition and health promotion roles, particularly to address childhood overweight and obesity.

She is committed to helping her patients achieve their health goals, using the latest rigorous research to deliver the highest quality nutrition care for weight loss, diabetes, cardiovasculardisease, hypertension, high cholesterol, IBS and during and after cancer treatment, to name a few.

Dr Robert Cheng is a procedural gastroenterologist and hepatologist. He holds a staff specialist appointment at Concord Hospital and is currently undertaking his doctoral thesis (PhD) on novel genomic biomarkers for liver cancer at Centenary Institute, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney. Dr Cheng studied medicine at the University of New South Wales; afterwards he trained as a physician and gastroenterologist in Sydney at leading tertiary institutions including Royal Prince Alfred, Royal North Shore and Concord Hospitals, as well as at major regional centres including Wollongong and Gosford Hospitals. After becoming a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Dr Cheng undertook one year of liver transplantation fellowship at the Australian National Liver Transplant Unit. He was subsequently awarded a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) scholarship to pursue a postgraduate Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in liver injury and liver cancer through the University of Sydney and Centenary Institute. He has publications in various Gastroenterology and Hepatology journals. His interest areas include liver cancer screening and management, bowel cancer screening, viral hepatitis and liver transplantation.

Dr Deborah Cheung, breast-oncoplastic surgeon, obtained her medical degree in 1993 at the University of Sydney and obtained her FRACS in 2001. Dr Cheung completed her training at the Surgical Oncology unit at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney.

Over the years she has visited many international institutions to learn from renowned surgeons including those at Harvard Medical School, UCLA, Milan and London. Her expertise in breast surgery includes skin sparing and nipple sparing mastectomies; oncoplastic breast conservation, immediate and delayed, prosthetic and autologous breast reconstruction; breast reduction and lift surgery, and breast symmetrisation surgery.

Dr Cheung now works from the Clinical Care Centre at Macquarie University Hospital. She is one of the first few Australian breast surgeons experienced in oncoplastic techniques.

Dr Cheung understands that making decisions about breast surgery is highly personal and anxiety provoking, and she is dedicated in the provision of the latest evidence-based methods to tailor her approach to suit each individual. Dr Cheung is very pleased to be part of the multidisciplinary breast cancer team at Macquarie University Hospital. This comprehensive and coordinated service provides immediate assessment and surgical planning in collaboration with Macquarie Medical Imaging, offering same day mammograms, breast ultrasounds and biopsies.

Dr Andrew Cheung (BSc (Med) MBBS (Hons 1) FRANZCR) is an Australian fellowship trained interventional neuroradiologist. He was raised in Sydney, and is fluent in English and Cantonese.
