Our research approach falls into two general categories:

Research into the cause of diseases:

Predominantly laboratory-based research, this research examines and models various physiological processes and mechanisms in an effort to better understand how the body works. This area of study also undertakes population research to understand patterns of disease.

Translational Research:

This line of research is committed to the discovery and application of knowledge that may improve the health of humans through improved treatments. Macquarie University Hospital has a number of commercial partners to assist with bringing new technologies to bear in the fight against disease.
